BookmarkHer Literature Festival – Event Policy & Code of Conduct

General Admission Terms

  • All sales are final. No refunds.

  • Tickets may be transferred to another guest. Transfer requests must be submitted with the new guest’s full name.

  • A valid ticket and government-issued ID are required for entry.

  • Event times, panels, and guest appearances are subject to change. Any changes will be communicated via email and posted on official BookmarkHer platforms.

  • BookmarkHer is a private event. We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee who violates policies or compromises the safety and energy of the event. No refunds will be issued.

  • Refund Policy - No Refunds

    Once a ticket is purchased, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances, including but not limited to:

    • Scheduling conflicts

    • Travel issues

    • Weather concerns

    • Personal emergencies

    • Changes in availability or preference

    All funds from ticket sales are immediately allocated to event planning, venue commitments, and contracted services; therefore, refunds cannot be accommodated.

This policy ensures attendee safety, accurate capacity planning, and compliance with venue and insurance requirements.

Event Changes: 

Bookmarkher reserves the right to:

• Adjust event programming

• Change schedules, speakers, or venue layout

• Modify or substitute planned activities

Such changes do not qualify for refunds or exchanges.

Event Cancellation

If, for reasons beyond our control (e.g., natural disaster, venue closure, public safety concerns), the event must be canceled, postponed, or rescheduled, attendees will be notified immediately.
In such rare cases, Bookmarkher will determine whether:

• Tickets will be honored for the new date or

• Credit will be issued toward a future event.

Refunds are not guaranteed even in cancellation scenarios unless required by applicable law.

Ticket Types & Perks

General Admission

Entry to the Saturday festival during standard event hours.
No early entry or special seating.

Saturday Full Access

Includes early entry, priority seating (as available), and Saturday-only perks.
Friday events not included.

Full Weekend Access Pass - vip 

Includes:

  • Friday Meet & Greet

  • Early entry to Saturday programming

  • Priority seating
    Check-in opens at 5 PM Friday for Weekend Pass holders. - VIP 

VIP Access

VIP perks are listed in the ticket description before purchase and honored as described at that time.


Accessibility

BookmarkHer is committed to an inclusive and accessible event experience.
If you have accessibility needs, email info@bookmarkherfest.com at least 30 days prior to the event so we can assist you.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

We gather to celebrate literature, community, and creativity. Disrespect will not be tolerated.

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or hate speech

  • Unwelcome touching or sexual attention

  • Non-consensual photos or recording of attendees who decline

  • Disrupting panels, signings, or programming

  • Threats, intimidation, or stalking
    Violations may result in immediate removal without refund and a ban from future BookmarkHer events.

Enforcement

If you witness or experience harmful behavior, notify staff or security immediately.
We may take any necessary action to uphold safety and wellbeing — including removal from the event without refund.

All attendees must respect staff, authors, guests, panelists, vendors, and volunteers.

Media Release

By attending BookmarkHer, you consent to photography, video recording, and audio capture.
Your image, voice, and statements may be used in BookmarkHer promotional materials, livestreams, event recaps, social media content, and press coverage without compensation.

Health & Safety Waiver

Attendees assume all risks associated with participation, including potential exposure to illness.

Ticket Resale Policy

  • Tickets may be transferred but not resold.

  • No third-party vendors, scalping, or fraudulent tickets.

  • Any ticket found to be fraudulent will be voided without refund.

Bag, Recording & Venue Policies

  • All bags are subject to search. No wagons or carts over 18" x 18".

  • No outside food or alcohol unless explicitly permitted by the venue.

  • Recording of panels is limited to short clips for personal social use.

  • Full-session recording is prohibited.

  • Respect all “no photography” signs at author tables or special activations.

  • Service animals are welcome. Pets are not.

Marketplace

Support the authors, booksellers, and vendors participating in the BookmarkHer marketplace.
Some author signings may occur at vendor tables — follow posted queue and staff instructions.

Unauthorized vending, solicitation, or distribution of materials is not allowed.

Marketing & Communications Consent

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to receive BookmarkHer updates, schedules, and essential event information.
You may unsubscribe, but doing so may result in missing important logistics.

Privacy & Data Protection

Personal information collected during registration is used only for event operations, communication, and support.
We do not sell or share your information for external marketing.

Consent to Terms

By purchasing and attending BookmarkHer, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to all terms, policies, and liability waivers.
